Men's Clothing
Men's clothing had a short, square look to them. They wore hose and breeches, which were stuffed and padded to look fuller. They had wide, square shoulders, which had puffed sleeves. They also wore short, wide gowns, also called cloaks. Sleeveless, padded doublets were worn over the shirt and under the jerkin. A jerkin is simply a short coat or jacket. They wore hats with many different shapes. Overall, they had a square look to them. Later on, they had a little bit of a change. Their outfits were a little stiffer, and a little less bulky. They removed the pads and stuffing from the breeches. Shoulder wings were added to not only the men's clothes, but also the women's. Men also now wore a short cape. They even wore square shoes.
