Peasants
Unlike the higher class, peasants during the renaissance didn't have a lot of money. Their outfits weren't as spectacular as everyone else's. Women wore long, full skirts and a long-sleeve shirt, or chemise. They didn't have jewels and lace added to their outfits, nor did they dress bright. They simply had plain colors such as brown, gold, and rust. Men wore plain boots, breeches, a shirt, and a vest. Young children just wore a long shirt and a muslin cap. Children a little older dressed like adults. Peasant's clothing wasn't made comfortably either. It was rough and natural, like wool, woven cotton, raw silk, flax, leather, and linen. Almost everybody wore a hat. They wore hats called muffin hats, biggins, or straw hats. They didn't have fancy designed hats like the nobility did. They lived much different lives then the upper-class, and you could tell their status with just one glance.
